Toronto’s Protocult returns to unleash their long-awaited music video “Oy Kanada” in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday with a premiere on Bravewords.com. The folk-thrasher is a take on the Canadian national anthem and a video concept that tips its hat to the diverse multicultural metal community throughout the land.
The band stated this about the song:
“This is who we are and where we live and it’s a mighty fine time and place to show love for metal, this is our Canada! and yes, our beer is better than yours!”
Fearlessly fusing metal sub-genres, “Oy Kanada” marks the return of PROTOKULT to the front line after unleashing their third studio recording and 2014 album “No Beer In Heaven”, a release that’s an adventurous, heavy and experimental trek, diving into themes of drinking, history and human endeavor.
Calgary, AB progressive death metal band Divinity have posted more lyric videos in support of theirnew album “The Immortalist” that was unleashedon May 26th.
The band stated this about the songs:
“PsyWar: This was a song that had a concept before the music was written. We knew we needed to create a groovy song with a real sinister message. Once the main riff was written, the rest wrote itself. I am very proud of the final song as it relays the message that we all live in a world of psychological warfare where the elite rulers have fabricated a narrative that we have come to accept as normal. Through media and mainstream news, they have convinced us of all kinds of false beliefs, and they have found a way to get their wars and their ways of normalizing violence and all the terrible things that would normally be completely unacceptable. We have been fully and completely brainwashed to accept atrocities and lies, as truth. Now that we are so conditioned to accept this as normal, we won’t question authority, meaning they can do whatever it is they want, without a backlash from the public.
Distorted Mesh: This song started as a riff of Sean’s, which I took and spiced up and sped up. The song concept was loosely inspired by the movie “Insidious”, where the demon lives in the underworld and emerges only to find his victims, and take them into the other world to torture. Our current world is a very scary place these days, where lies and distortions of the truth are the new norm. We are all connected to each other in this madness, but the things that connect us are distorted and manipulated by evil entities who have succeeded in making us thoughtless slaves. There is no way out of this nightmare that is our modern world’s reality.”
“The Immortalist”is a culmination of 5 years of hard work and dedication to DIVINITY‘s craft. The album features 12 tracks that include their two previous EP releases “The Immortalist, Pt. 1 – Awestruck” and “The Immortalist, Pt. 2 –Momentum” with their 3rd EP “The Immortalist Pt. 3 – Conqueror” now completed to finish off the trilogy series as one huge full length album. All the tracks on the album are re-mixed and re-mastered by the talented Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Grid Productions) to make the songs more cohesive and work as a full-length experience. This album also features Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid of Soilwork on vocals for the song ‘D.M.T.’.

Divinity, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, started in 1997 and began playing live shows in 1999. In 2001, the band released its first EP album called “Intensify” which received a lot of local (Canadian) praise after sending in a couple songs to BWBK’s ‘Knuckletrack’ CD sampler. A music video was released for the song “World of Pain” in 2003 and the band played local shows building its show experience.
Fast forward to 2007, Divinity independently releases their first full-length album called “Allegory” and is picked up by Nuclear Blast Records just 3 months after the independent release. Obviously, this was a major turning point for the band!
In 2008, Divinity took on its first major tour by joining the Summer Slaughter Canada tour. This gave them the opportunity to connect to high-calibre booking agents and other acts such as Dying Fetus, Whitechapel, and Necrophagist.
In 2009, Divinity spent it’s time creating their 2nd full-length album, called “The Singularity” which was released under Candlelight Records with a very positive response from numerous reviewers and listeners.

Vertigo-inducing death metallers Incantation have unveiled a play-through video of guitarist Sonny Lombardozzi shredding on the new track “Rites Of The Locust“. The video is streaming exclusively via the Metal Injection.
In addition, the scheduling for Incantation‘s upcoming tour with Swedish black metallers Marduk has been announced.
Death metal pioneers Incantation triumphantly return to their original label Relapse Records to vomit forth another unholy offering of godless abominations on ”Profane Nexus”, their formidable tenth full-length album. Embodying a dizzying array of blasphemous tracks – culminating in sacrilegious conquests, crushing dirges, and vile riffing ” Profane Nexus” is an obliterating-ly heavy execution of disgusting death metal that further solidifies the band as one of extreme music’s most influential and consistently hailed artists of the past thirty years.
Recorded at the band’s own Incantation Studios in Johnstown, PA and mixed/mastered by Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Asphyx, Dark Funeral), ”Profane Nexus” is perhaps the finest example of pummeling death metal and disemboweling funeral doom ever conceived.

The album drops on August 11th via Relapse Records, the very same label that released the band’s suffocating-yet-groundbreaking debut effort, Onward To Golgotha, over a half century ago.

Incantation founding father, John McEntee, stated this about the direction of the video:
“With the advent of 360-video visualizer technology, we were able to convey the song’s powerful imagery alongside the intensity of the music. This song is an example of one of the more aggressive songs on the album. We feel it’s the perfect representation of death metal and everything an Incantation fan wants. Rage motherfuckers!”

Having him now in our roster, crowns our long-lasting conspiracy; it was more like a natural step and the right moment for him to enter our Alpha Omega Family, especially now when we’re inaugurating our new management branch. Naturally Steve has many things boiling in the pot, so stay tuned! Welcome aboard, Steve, we’ll have busy times ahead!”

Norwegian metal titans Vulture Industries released the video for “As the World Burns” and it was created by renowned Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu. This song is for the new upcoming forth ”Strange Times”, and it will be out in 22th September via Season of Mist Records.
Vulture industries stated this about “As the World Burns”:
“This song represent the rockier side of our new album and is one of my personal favourites. ‘As the World Burns’ deals with the interdependence of extreme world views that need each other to justify their existence – a theme that is quite relevant in our strange and hazy present. Once more we have teamed up with our friend and sixth band member, the brilliant Mr. Costin Chioreanu for a video. Of course, Costin also created the album artwork. These are the first fruits of our continued co-operation and I sincerely promise that there are a lot of more strange harvests to come your way. Take a bite!”
Frontman Bjørnar E. Nilsen adds this about the new album:
“Continuing along the path that we started to explore on ‘The Tower’, I proudly believe ‘Stranger Times’ to be standing out as a defining work for us. It bridges the gap between styles that we have touched upon in the past, while at the same time expands our scope and includes a more solid dose of rock in the mix. To me, it represents our most ‘solid’ album to date and is clearly the best produced one. I am curious to see how our fans will react, but being the kind and intelligent persons that they are, we actually expect a lot of love… and maybe a bit of trash just to remind us that we are mere mortals”.
This video is one strange and amazing music video, Vulture Industries are back to bring out the best in music. Enjoy the travel, through dark and mysterios world, and some kickass avangarde metal music.

Wearing their influences on their sleeves, quite literally, patched denim and all things NWOBHM is their art, they are the purveyors of traditional heavy metal. Belfast heavy metal trio Rabid Bitch Of The North have announced they will release their debut full length album, ”Nothing But a Bitter Taste”, this August via Hostile Media. “Nothing But a Bitter Taste ” has essentially been several years in the making. “Nothing But A Bitter Taste”, is a concrete slab of that classic British sounding metal. It’s something straight off a NWOBHM compilation cassette. A varied spectrum of styles and tempos, and each track has its own story. It is heavy metal with rock n roll, but it is definitely progressive sounding from the previous EP and singles we’ve released.”
Statment of the frontman Joe McDonnell about the album, and the first new song:
”For the first time in over 10 years of performing live we had to find time to take off, go to our studio, and do this album justice.
Gerrys production has been a learn as you work approach. Using his skills built up from years of making our demos and singles
What we wanted to achieve was a record that captured our unique character, as well sounding like a record that we would listen to. We wanted it to sound like the metal we like, which is anything from the golden era of heavy metal. Maybe a few Judas Priest records were points of reference at times, but the album was never based on one particular sound.”
”The Missionary”is a song about the journey of discovering metal, searching out new bands and sounds, and then becoming part of the scene creating your own songs.
1. The Missionary
3. Nothing But A Bitter Taste
4. Gilded Men
5. God Of Punishment
6. Demon Mind
7. Defending Two Castles
8. Trapped In 1999
The album was recorded by guitarist Gerard Mulholland, as with all their previous releases.
As well as announcing details of the album the band have also released the first single, a track entitled ”The Missionary”, and a song which purpose was to try and harness the bizarre excitement and feeling heavy metal fans first experience on finding the genre, seeing the first album covers of Maiden’s Eddie or the devilish artwork depicted on Ozzy and Dio records. This album will be released via Alone Records. A European tour scheduled later that year with Dutch metalheads Lord Voltare and further tours and festival appearances has saw this heavy metal trio move upwards and onwards onto bigger and better things. The horizon is looking good for Rabid Bitch Of The North, so strap in, hold tight and get ready for some heavy metal rabies!
”Nothing But A Bitter Taste” will be released on a limited edition gatefold 3 panel digipack via Hostile Media on 18th August 2017 as well as digital via iTunes, Spotify, etc. Pre-order HERE!

Formed in 2016 with the goal of creating contemptuous heavy metal in the vein of their influences and a mutual disgust for the safety of modern metal, Milwaukee’sPrezir has released its aptly titled debut EP ”Contempt”.
Featuring guitarist/bassist Rory Heikkila (Shroud of Despondency), vocalist/lyricist Luka Djordjevic (Khazaddum), and drummer Brian Serzynski (Pigs Blood), ”Contempt” is an iniquitous and undeniably feral blend of Death, Black, and Thrash Metal with influences inclusive of early Emperor, early Enslaved, Grand Belial’s Key, Arghoslent, Morbid Angel, Deicide, and Destroyer 666.
Drums on ”Contempt” were tracked by Dan Klein at Iron Hand Audio. Everything else as recorded and produced by the band in 2017. Mixing by Rory Heikkila.

On August 31th Mist of Misery will unleash their EP ”Shackles of Life”, a fresh new sound but a good resemblance to absence. The band has finally completed, the full studio time and mastering is done.
First chapter of the ”Shackles of Life” features some of the most gloomy and utter beautiful crafted work in a long time. its simply one of those albums /EPs that rarely comes out, if you enjoyed absence then this will be a step above.
This EP was mastered by the master of master Ronnie Björnström Of Defitory and EAP MiX Room…known for working with bands like Bodyfarm,Aeon,Cut up,so expect nothing but greatness of pure melody and melancholy.
Statment of the band:
”The EP also marks the sad departure of Erik Molnar’s history in Mist of misery being busy with recording and writing for the new Hyperion album. We are of course are sad to see Erik go, but we know he does it for the best as well as for personal reasons. ”
Erik will of course still linger around for this EP to watch as everyone absorbs it. So keep your eyes open as first single for Mist of misery is being planned for first week of July including opening for pre orders. The album will also, be available through Season Of Mist.
