Worhol is supporting Xandria On US Headlining Tour This Fall!

Wormholedeath’s Publishing Artist Worhol have recently released their full length, entitled The Awakening (Imminence Records), and are now excited to announce their first tour in support of it. The quartet, which features the father daughter team of Ashley and Larry Worhol who are descendants of Andy Warhol, will be hitting the road this October with Xandria , Worhol , and September Mourning . The band will be on the tour from October 12th through the 21st, and will announce further touring plans later this year. ”The Awakening” is available for purchase at this location.

Here is the Stament of the Frontwomen Ashley Worhol about the tour with Xandria:

”There’s nothing greater then to have the opportunity to tour with the talented musicians in Xandria, Kobra And The Lotus, and September Mourning. We are grateful for the team behind this, especially Artery Global and that we are able to follow our dreams which we have strived so hard to achieve..”

About Worhol:

Worhol was fully formed in 2013 when lead singer Ashley Worhol and her father Larry Worhol decided they wanted to follow their dream together as a team. Both having degrees in music, they knew they had the knowledge and experience it would take to compose the music they’re so passionate about. Larry being the guitarist as well as the orchestral composer, fit in perfectly with Ashley’s trained vocals. The father-daughter team started writing music close to ten years ago and knew they wanted to form a group and write original music to perform worldwide. With a classical background rooted in both Ashley and Larry, Worhol’s music can be best described as symphonic, theatrical and over the top. Ashley and Larry are kin to Andy Warhol and decided to keep the band name in the family. Once Worhol was set, they reached out and found the rest of the members of the band Craig Malinowski on bass and Marty Naul on drums.

Over the 2013 year, Worhol produced their first music video to ”The Darkness ” and started writing compositions for their first album. Worhol has participated in several music festivals as well as played in many named venues inside and outside of the Houston area. Several articles have been recently published both in the United States as well as in Europe. Houston Press announced in 2013 Worhol’s music video ”The Darkness” to be ranked #3 out of the Houston area.

Worhol has been fortunate enough to have worked on their album with people such as John LeCompt from Evanescence, Stephen Bogle from The Hunger, as well as Mark Andes from Heart. In 2014, Worhol really started to prove their name in the industry by opening up for Nationals Acts such as, Saving Abel, Puddle of Mudd, Surrender The Fall and Almost Kings as well as guest appearing on radio stations and being broadcasted live on Great Day Houston with a musical performance. Worhol has been published in Billboard Magazine, Revolver Magazine, Metal Onslaught Magazine, Fireworks Magazine and more.

Worhol worked hard in developing their name and presence which lead to attaining the attention of New York based Extreme Management Company Inc. and inking a deal in 2016. This put Worhol on a strong roster of bands including Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Cryptopsy, Origin, Ring of Saturn, Threat Signal and more.

In 2016 Worhol also inked a deal with California based Imminence Records for the release of the bands debut album, ”The Awakening”, released worldwide on July 14th, 2017. Worhol also inked a publishing deal with WormHoleDeath and Warner Music giving the band a strong presence throughout the music industry.

The Black Dahlia Murder reveals details for the new upcoming album ”Nightbringers”!

On October 6th, The Black Dahlia Murder will release their eighth full-length ”Nightbringers” via Metal Blade Records.

Rather than meticulously plan things out or stick rigidly to any kind of template, when it comes to writing, The Black Dahlia Murder prefer to let things happen organically in the hands of guitarist Brian Eschbach  who is a  co-founded of the band with front-man Trevor Strnad in 2001  and new recruit Brandon Ellis (Arsis, ex-Cannabis Corpse).”Nightbringers” is rich with dynamic riffs that are at once fresh and classic The Black Dahlia Murder, resulting in a collection that shifts through many moods and effortlessly incorporates various elements of extreme metal. While Strnad explores a variety of themes and ideas with his lyrics, they are united by the album’s title, which embraces a tenet that has been central to The Black Dahlia Muder‘s output since the very beginning.

Vocalist  Trevor Strnad about the death metal and the new upcoming album:

Death metal and nighttime are synonymous to me,” we are the rulers of the darkened hours that the Christian good fears. A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld – such as marriage and monogamy – came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It’s ‘being-the-villain music’, because we’re the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it’s for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and ”Kings Of The Nightworld” are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle.

For a first preview of the record, a video for the title track can be viewed at: metalblade.com/tbdm – where the album can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

About Doyle:

Lodi, a small borough of Bergen County, New Jersey, is just over two square miles. There’s not much to suggest that the small village would be the birthplace of a world famous, blood-soaked form of music known as horror punk. Legendary acts The MisfitsSamhain, and Danzig all have their origins in Lodi, and something monstrous indeed lurks there. The poster child and originator of the genre, himself, has once again unleashed an evil noise on an unsuspecting world: Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein’s first release, Abominator, by his eponymous band, Doyle.

Released on Doyle’s own label, Monsterman Records, Abominator is a sonically thick and lyrically evil slab of metal that finds Doyle expanding in a logical progression upon the genre of music he helped create. Doyle’s first band, the infamous Glenn Danzig fronted Misfits, helped create the genre of speed/thrash metal with their last album, 1983’s Earth AD/Wolf’s Blood in fact the record has been revered as one of the blueprints for the genre by many of its most respected players, as evidenced by countless groups covering the album’s songs, not the least of which being MetallicaAbominator is not the sound of some punk guitarist gone metal- it’s the roaring return of one of extreme metal’s original architects to his blood-splattered drawing board.

Coming from a legendary band of almost mythological proportions, and having first worked with one of the most talented and respected vocalists of the century (the infamous Glenn Danzig), Doyle’s new project would need a singer with brass balls, cast-iron pipes, a suitably twisted mind, and his own vocal delivery style. Enter Alabama’s Alex Story of Cancerslug, a Southern fiend who’s sand-blasted scream opens the record, and the evil doesn’t relent until the ending growl of “Hope Hell Is Warm”, the album’s defiant closer. The man can scream and sing, and employs both styles to great effect, switching seamlessly from raw-throated roars to rough-edged, yet melodic, clean vocals. Alex’s live performances can only be described as unforgettable, disturbing and strangely addictive – a perfect complement to the already mammoth stage presence of Doyle himself.

Doyl RFYL

The unmistakable sound of Doyle’s signature Annihilator guitar cuts through on every tune like a sonic fingerprint, starting with the snarling opening title track Abominator. The Annihilator’s tone is sharp as a butcher’s knife in the wrong hands and just as nasty- fans of the Misfits will recognize it right away.

On tunes like ”Headhunter ” and ”Land of the Dead”the riffs are relentless, and if a riff could be described in emotional terms, remorseless. ”Dreamingdeadgirls” brings a blackened-blues swing, and the doom-laden “Love Like Murder” shows a healthy appreciation for all things Sabbath. “Blood Stains” moves from primal sludge to ripping off-time thrash with ease. The album is just that- an album, a cohesive and well executed piece of work that takes the listener on a journey; albeit a bloody journey to places some fear to tread.

D14

As befits songs as musically dark as Abominator‘s, the album’s lyrics are not for the faint of heart. Throughout the entire record, there is absolutely zero attempt to balance its evil with any sort of good counterpoint- penned entirely by Story (probably in blood), Abominator‘s lyrics are entirely and uncompromisingly dark. Music fans looking for feel- good anthems had best look elsewhere- those who enjoy strolling through the shadows will be greatly satisfied.

So how did this Jersey devil and crew wind up with a Dixie-bred howler? ”After I had written all this music, I realized I had to get someone to sing this stuff- once I’m done recording guitars, all I can see is myself just playing that riff, ya know? That’s my thing, not lyrics and singing,” Doyle says, with typically blunt candor. “I’ve known Alex for a while, so I called him up, then sent him a bunch of the tunes. Two days later he sent me back ‘Mark of the Beast’, just like it is on the record. I said ‘That’s exactly what I want!’, and the rest is history. I only wrote the word ‘abominator’- all the rest of that stuff is Alex. He’s just crazy, man”.

01

It’s a match made in hell. But no metal band would be complete without a complete animal behind the drum kit. Brandon ”The Crusher” Pertzborn (of Black Flag) delivers all the aggression and insanity necessary (and then some) with his exquisite musicality and showmanship.

So what can fans expect at a Doyle show?

”To get fucking pummeled, man. And then go home and ask themselves ‘What the fuck just happened to me?!?’, hahaha…” he replies with a laugh that this time, no joke about it, actually sounds evil. Loud, aggressive, and technically proficient, Doyle and crew are set to show the world how true horror metal sounds today.

So crank up Abominator until your speakers blow, check out Doyle on tour, and let the beatings begin!

Der Weg einer Freiheit released new album ”Finisterre” and announced new guitarist!

Der Weg einer Freiheit are unleashing their complete forthcoming album, ”Finisterre”. The new masterpiece of the rising German black metal stars will be released this Friday, August 25th via Season of Mist Records.

Stament of the Frontman Nikita Kamprad about the new upcoming album and thier former band member and their new member:

“Today, we are finally able to present our full new album ”Finisterre” to you. We hope that you will enjoy it! However, we also need to let you know that our long-time guitarist Sascha decided to leave the band to pursue his own musical vision. Whenever possible, he will still be helping us out as a backliner. We thank Sascha for all his passion and dedication to this band and wish him the very best for his future endeavours! We take this opportunity to introduce our new guitarist Nico, who has already stepped in as live guitarist for some shows in 2011 and is now joining us full time. The past three gigs with him, including our release show at Summer Breeze, went great and we are more than ready to finally unleash ‘Finisterre’ and see you on tour in September and October!”

Statment of former guitarist Sascha:

“I am using this opportunity to give a big round of thanks to everyone who contributed to  Der Weg einer Freiheit in any way and any form over the past six years and everyone who is going to do this in future, because I will remain with the band behind the stage whenever possible and you might see me jump around before a show to make sure that everything runs smoothly. This way I can keep working with my best friends. My decision to leave the stage was sure not an easy one and took me a long time, but I just have to move on in a musical sense and dedicate my creativity for my other band Fuck You And Die and another new metal band venture that is taking a huge part of my time, passion and care. If you would like to connect and catch up with me ,feel free to hit me up on the socials. Please enjoy ”Finisterre” as it is a magnificent piece of art and I believe in Nikita’s way of creating music. Thank you again and see you soon! Probably sooner than you might think. Sincerely, Sascha.”

DWEF album cover Finisterre

1. Aufbruch (9:49)
2. Ein letzter Tanz (13:49)
3. Skepsis Part I (5:05)
4. Skepsis Part II (5:36)
5. Finisterre (11:13)

The musical puzzle that adds up to become  Der Weg einer Freiheit  turns into something more complex – yet also clearer defined on the band’s fourth studio album, ”Finisterre”. The original pieces are still in play: the aggressive German directness akin to Endstille and a penchant for brooding melancholy as embodied by Imperium Dekadenz. Spiralling psychedelic moments comparable to Deafheaven and Wolves In The Throne Room also find their place, as well as a knack for majestic melodies that shows parallels in Swedish black metal spearheaded by Marduk and Dark Funeral.

Yet while  Der Weg einer Freiheit are clearly progressing along the lines laid out by their previous acclaimed effort, ‘Stellar’, the band has found a way to make these pieces fit more seamlessly. ”Finisterre” flows together into a coherent picture that stresses the Germans’ unique approach and sound. This album marks the point where Der Weg einer Freiheit turn their various influences into a work entirely of their own expression despite never trying to cover up their roots. This impressive maturity has been reached through several stages.

The frontman was first heard on third full-length ”Stellar” (2015), which saw  Der Weg einer Freiheit gaining traction across the pond as well as expanding their European base. Having performed along such diverse acts as Wolves In The Throne Room, Neaera, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amenra, Crippled Black Phoenix, and Downfall Of Gaia as well as playing prestigious festivals such as Graspop, Hellfest, Resurrection, Roadburn, Summer Breeze, and Wacken  festival has honed the band’s songwriting skills to razor-sharp precision.

Finisterre” clearly stands at the apex  for now of the steep climb that Der Weg einer Freiheit  have taken. This German star is finally shining in full black.

Der Weg einer Freiheit have previously announced a European headlining tour supported by French brothers in spirit, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber and the recently added Inter Arma.

Archspire are premiering the third mind-blowing new track taken from their forthcoming album ”Relentless Mutation”, which has been scheduled for release on September 22nd via Season of Mist Records!

The band stated this about the song:

“Human Murmuration” is the second track off our upcoming release ‘Relentless Mutation’, and also the second song we wrote for the album. This spacy, sometimes ethereal jam comes with some pretty groove-heavy parts to balance things out. It was one of those songs that took a long time to put together, but once we were in studio listening to the final version, it became clear that this song had something different. We are looking forward to sharing the full album with you on September 22nd through Season Of Mist! Stay Tech!”

Archspire have previously released the artwork of ”Relentless Mutation”, which has been created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor and can be viewed together with the track-list below.

Archspire cover art by Eliran Kantor

1. Involuntary Doppelgänger (3:46)
2. Human Murmuration (4:13)
3. Remote Tumour Seeker (4:01)
4. Relentless Mutation (4:35)
5. The Mimic Well (4:05)
6. Calamus Will Animate (3:50)
7. A Dark Horizontal (6:10)

Welcome to first class technical death metal madness. Machinegun vocals rattle remorselessly over a furious flurry of arpeggios, scales, and everything else that the two string wizards of Archspire can pick at break-finger speed out their guitars. If this sounds hardly human at the level of technical execution, the Gatling-style hyper-drumming pushing these monstrous compositions forward is adding to the alien impression. It cannot even be a question that the Canadians have outdone themselves with their third full-length, ”Relentless Mutation”.

This album is simply insane in a most excellent way. The level of musicianship that Archspire offer, will leave even tech death fans drooling. Yet the outfit from Vancouver in British Columbia is bringing an important extra to the table, the rare ability to write great songs. ”Relentless Mutation” is not just another compilation of outstanding musicianship, but the songs come with recognisable patterns that make sense in the greater conceptual framework of the album. And a clever use of contrasts leaves moments of clarity for the listener to take a breath and get ready for the next assault.

Archspire exploded onto the scene in the year 2009 – after an earlier prelude under the moniker Defenestrated. The band grew out of the rich Canadian scene for technical extremes that includes illustrious names such as Gorguts or Beyond Creation. Yet  Archspire  set out to take the sound to the next level from the start as their debut album ”All Shall Align” (2011) made clear, which immediately received critical comparison with the scene’s spearheads like Obscura.

The band developed a lyrical concept revolving around a dystopian science fiction universe, which was expanded on their sophomore full-length, ”The Lucid Collective” (2014) that witnessed Archspire gaining widespread international recognition as one of the hottest names within the tech death community and beyond.

With ‘Relentless Mutation’, the Canadians are pushing the limits of their genre even further than before on all levels. Archspire come crushing like a whirlwind to free ears and minds from pre-conceived notions about technical death metal. Time to leave your shelter and face the tempest. This is the future.

The cover of ”Relentless Mutation” has been painted by renowned artist Eliran Kantor already well-known in the metal world for his works for Testament, Atheist, and Hate Eternal among others.

For all its beauty, Iceland can be a sinister place where furious elements rage teaching fear but also inspiring human creativity. Hailing from the village of ”Hveragerði” in the south of the volcanic island,  Auðn are the latest offspring from the burgeoning black metal scene in this land of ice and snow to set their dark sails for foreign shores.

With their second full-length, ”Farvegir Fyrndar” (literally meaning “Ancient Riverbeds“, with a long tail of untranslatable subtext),Auðn  continue their fast ascent. Unlike the majority of their blackened brethren from the country’s capital Reykjavik, this young band does not base its sound more or less on Deathspell Omega worship, but rather reaches back to a more classic second generation black metal approach for inspiration.

Auðn deliver haunting melodies and beautifully frozen atmospheres – as opposed to the jarring and caustic blunt force trauma that has brought this remote place in the Northern Atlantic to the black metal forefront of late.

Founded in the bleak winter of 2010, Auðn ‘s talent was quick to be recognised. The band got invited to Iceland’s main metal event, the Eistnaflug Festival and won the local Wacken Metal Battle contest in 2016, while making it to the top 3 at the main event. Performances at the prestigious Inferno and Roadburn Festivals followed in 2017.

With ”Farvegir Fyrndar”,  Auðn not only demonstrate the impressive progress of their songwriting skills but also deliver a clear definition of their very own black sound. Warning: this album grows with every spin and will take a long time to even come close to any limit!

Just recently Theatres Des Vampires released the video for their new single ”Resurrection Mary ” taken from the band’s latest album ”Candyland” out on Scarlet Records). The video is directed by Patrizia Cogliati Musicphoto (www.musichphoto.it).

Theatres Des Vampires is an Italian Gothic Metal band with strong symphonic influences, formed in 1994 and renowned for the predominant theme of vampirism in their lyrics. ”Candyland”has been inspired by a room of the infamous Pennhurst asylum in Pennsylvania, a room which was different from all the others, with colored walls and bars on the windows, described as hell on earth by the patients of the facility, where adults and children with severe mental problems have been hidden from the public eye for decades. ”Candyland” was the name of that room. Obsession and madness characterizes Theatres Des Vampires latest work, their sound is forceful and sensual at the same time, pervaded with those wistful and melancholic bursts which the band is renowned for. ”Candyland” sees a very special guest appearance by legendary Moonspell frontman Fernando Ribeiro on the song ”Seventh Room”.
