Pokerface released new music video for the cover of the Arch Enemy’s song ”The World Is Yours”!

Russian death/thrashers Pokerface have released a music video to “The World Is Yours”, a Swedish melodic death legends Arch Enemy a cover song. The guest lead guitar was played by Lisaveta Schtoltz.

My personal opinion about this cover is that is different in many ways, but the vocals of Alexandra Orlova is just amazing and brutal as hell, with the unique combination of the clean vocals, it’s not technically perfect as the original song, but it has that crazy insane thrash metal vibe and thrash metal influence, pure destruction, rage and anger, amazing cover and the vocals.

Video production, post-production, and effects: Dmitry Morsus (Amorsus Studio)

Location: Sunlight studio, Moscow

Recording, mastering, and mixing: Konstantin Vihrev

Backline provided: by MetalStuff

About Pokerface:

The band was created in Moscow in 2013. Doctor (drums) and Dietrich (guitar) organized a group with an ironic name Pokerface. The band got over some changes of musicians, but it has never stopped to work intensively in the studio and on stage and finally had crystallized its unique style.

Pokerface shared the stage with such famous bands as Sodom, Onkel Tom, Sister Sin, Knorkator,  Sepultura, Overkill, Claustrophobia, Children of Bodom, Vader,  Megadeth, Kreator, Death DTA and Infected Rain.

Lineup: LadyOwl – Vox, Xen Ritter – Guitars, Lisaveta Schtolz – Guitars (guest star), Ded Moroz – Bass, Roman Pankow – Drums

Arch Enemy released new live music video for ”The Race”!

Melodic death metal monsters Arch Enemy release new live music video for ”The Race” from their new album ”Will To Power” which was out in September 8th via Century Media Records.

Image may contain: 1 person, playing a musical instrument and guitar

Here is the statement of guitarist Michael Amott about this live music video and the song:

“This was actually the last song written for the ‘Will To Power’ album. Listening through all the material we had up to that point we agreed that the album needed one more song that would be a relentless and fast paced counterpoint to some of the more epic compositions we already had. We sent Alissa the music and she came up with a thought provoking lyric and an intense vocal arrangement that complemented the music perfectly. We’ve been having a blast playing the song on current tour and we had our video director Patric Ullaeus come out to capture the mayhem at our recent show in Helsinki, Finland… Enjoy ‘The Race’!”

From the might of melodic death metal, we will rise!

Jinjer/Arch Enemy

”Dom Omladine Belgrade/Serbia”

Ukrainian groove metalcore band Jinjer and Swedish melodic death metal masters Arch Enemy held a concert for the first time at Dom Omladine in Belgrade on September 18th. I can say about the show, it was a demonstration of melodic technical virtuosity, both bands showed with their energy on the stage, what it means to play a perfect show.

While approaching the hall, there were many fans waiting to get in the hall. They were so excited and happy to be there, with those magical smiles on their faces, especially the female fans of the both bands. The time passed bye, the fans were waiting for bands to start playing and time has come for the first band to start playing.

The first band to play was Ukrainian groove metalcore band Jinjer that began the show in 20:30h right on time. They started the show with the song ”Who Is Gonna Be The One?”, the crowd was very happy to see them, and the audience were in big numbers at their show, the ovations started for the begging to the end of show. Then they played  ”Words Of Wisdom”, ”Sit Stay Roll Over”, ”I Speak Astronomy” and many more.

Vocalist Tatiana Shmailyuk showed her amazing energy and vocals to the audience, her brutal and crushing vocals are quite unique and made the atmosphere powerful and the audience was in trance. The best reactions were to their songs ”Pisces”  and ”Another”.

The vocalist Tatiana was all over the stage, she had that fierce energy the hole time, she also showed that her clean vocals are amazing as growls as well. Audience enjoy every part of the show, watching the vocalist of the band without blinking. Last song that band played was ”Bad Water” and then the band left the stage and fans were screaming that they want more, but that was it and it was time for swedish legends to rock the stage.

Arch Enemy is well known as a band that has given so much to metal music, one of the most important metal bands today. This band was at the begging a force of destruction and with their former vocalist Angele Gossow they made a mark in metal history presenting the female vocalist that can do a mans job while growling. Today it’s the same thing with Alissa White-Gluz ,it’s different, but it’s a new fresh change, whether you like it or not. She brought something unique and different in band and presented her influence on the show as well and it was quite a good one, she rock the stage in every possible way. The band recorded two albums with Alissa ”War Eternal” and ”Will to Power” both of albums got positive reactions.

The band started the show with the song ”The World Is Yours” from the new album ”Will To Power” and the ovations from started, they were screaming in trance with continuity, they were one with the band, which made the atmosphere amazing and magical. Alissa demonstrated that her vocals are amazing live as well in studio and the songs, she was all over the place, with headbanging like crazy and she had an interesting corregraphy while dancing and screaming, it was so explosive. Most of the fans say Angele was better, she was great, this can not be denied, but Alissa gave the band hole new mark and shine, it’s not the same Arch Enemy as before, it’s a new on, that the new fans and the old ones can enjoy together equally. They played many songs, and one  of them  was ”The Eagle Flies Alone”, even if the song was the new one, the fans known the lyrics of the song, they were screaming the words all the way through out the hole song. They also played after this song, many more songs like ”War Eternal”, ”Stolen Life”, ”As The Pages Burn”, ”Avalanche” from the album ”War Eternal”. After that, they played older songs for the Angele era like ”Ravenous”, ”My Apocalypse”  and ”We Will Rise”.

In some moment during the show, Alissa asked the audience which fans were on their previous shows and which ones were for the first time and to raise their hands, many of the raised hands that they were the first time on their show, Alissa was so happy with it, and the band was also satisfied that they played for the first time for the crowd, who sees them for the first time.

The sound and the songs from the band sounded the same live as on the record, for some fans that was a bad think, for some were not, it’s  literally a subjective feeling, to me it’s was great in both many ways, they did their job, the show was great.

The technical virtuosity of Michael Amott and  Jeff Loomis was not of this world, this two presented some wicked kickass guitar playing, with a rhythm section of Daniela Erlandsson and Sharlee D’Angelo it was a journey trough a another dimension, and solos were a gateway to that dimension.

The show was ending, and the band played the last song ”Nemesis” and the most famous one from them, the fans went crazy, and they left the stage, some fans were satisfied, some were not, but the point is that the band left the impression on both sides.

After the show the band was in a friendly mood to take some pictures and to chat with their fans and before that shaking hands with their fans. Arch Enemy showed why they are one of the best metal bands in the world, with melodic death metal mayhem that made an earthquake in the hall, this day will be remembered as a melodic metal salvation.

This song and video are quite interesting, they have that apocalyptic vibe. Lyric part is just about the pain and fight of one individual. Powerful riffs and hypnotic melodies are perfectly combined with lyrics. Alissa done it this time too, with amazing vocals. Magic solos that  will on the first listening, blow your mind and soul. Pure melodic destruction.

Arch Enemy is in the studio, working on a new album, which is going to be probably released in September!

Swedish melodic death metal giants Arch Enemy are preparing some wicked material for the new album, with Alissa White-Gluz, this album is going to be very interesting, because that the question is that, is Arch Enemy going to record a massive successful album ”War Eternal”. Check out their comment’s  on the interview with Conny Schiffbauer of Germany’s Rock Hard magazine had a  interview with Arch Enemy singer Alissa White-Gluz and guitarist Michael Amott during this year’s 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.

Here are the comment’s about upcoming Arch Enemy album:

Michael: “The new album is written. It’s partially recorded. Right now, Alissa living in Canada and I’m in Sweden, we’ve been e-mailing files and stuff to each other. I’d send her a demo, and then she’d put vocals on that in her home studio, sends it back, and I say, ‘Great.’ You know, it’s just been kind of like that — working a bit separately. And after this cruise, we’re actually gonna get together in Sweden at some point and… you know, there’s a lot of stuff left to do — all the guitars and vocals and bass.”

Comment’s about the musical direction of the new Arch Enemy material:

Alissa: “It’s hard to say until you hear the final album, I think. ‘Cause you’re so deeply involved with every detail that it’s hard to see the big picture of it until it’s actually all complete. I wouldn’t even know how to approach that question.”

Michael: “It’s very diverse, I think, the material. It’s got a lot of trademark Arch Enemy elements, I guess. I can think a song is really, really different, but then we’re gonna play it, it’s gonna be us playing it, Alissa singing, it’s gonna sound very, very Arch Enemy. So it’s not like a huge departure, but it’s definitely the next… I think we’re more relaxed, maybe, than on the last album… ‘Cause Alissa’s been with us for three years, and it’s not as tense, maybe, as it was the last time around. [Before we released War Eternal] we were, like, ‘We don’t even know if people are gonna like this, if people are gonna accept us, Arch Enemy, with a new singer.’ We didn’t really know, which made the songs maybe more… To me, War Eternal’ has a very kind of dark and very angry and claustrophobic feel to it, which is really cool. But I think the new one is gonna be more open and probably more powerful, actually.”

Arch Enemy’s new guitarist, Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore), contributed to the songwriting on the band’s new album:

Michael: “Not with the songwriting, but he’s gonna be playing on the album, of course.”

On Michael’s plans for Black Earth, the project featuring former and current members of Arch Enemy performing material from Arch Enemy’s first three albums live on stage:

Michael: “Yeah, I don’t wanna confuse people, but what happened was the very first Arch Enemy album featured a completely different lineup, with my brother on guitar, and Johan [Liiva], the original male singer that we had on the first three albums. So it was the twentieth anniversary coming up. That album, and the three albums that we did with Johan, were very successful in Japan at the time, in the ’90s, so we thought we’d do something to commemorate that and have some fun. So what we did is we went over there and played seven shows, a sold-out tour, that did very well for us. And, yeah, one of the nights was recorded. But I think it’s only planned for release in Japan. We’re just keeping it very separate. But that was a lot of fun. It’s always fun to play with my brother, and, of course, it’s great [to play] with Johan as well; it’s fun.”

Alissa’s comment on her upcoming solo album:

Alissa: “Yeah, I’m gonna be releasing a solo album in probably early 2018. And the project is just called Alissa, because there’s no band — it’s just me. But I am collaborating with a lot of different musicians that I’m friends with — past and current members of Arch Enemy, people from Kamelot, Doyle [Misfits]. Basically, the goal with this project is just to do music that I love that’s different from what I do with Arch Enemy and do it with people that I love. So far, I really like how it’s going. And it’s just another creative outlet for me. So I’m looking forward to seeing what people think about that.”

On what the music on her debut album sounds like:

Alissa: “It’s hard to describe, again, because, like I said, it’s not finished yet, so I’m not exactly sure. But so far, I would have to say it’s like maybe Opeth meets Muse [laughs], if you can call it that. So I don’t know if I would call it metal or if I would call it rock. There’s clean singing in there, there’s gonna be some interesting covers in there. It’s definitely heavy, it’s definitely emotional, powerful. That’s what I like, that’s the kind of music I like. Other than that, I’m not sure how to label it.”

Arch Enemy will release a new live DVD, As The Stages Burn!, on March 31 via Century Media Records. The set contains video of the band’s largest stage production to date from their performance last summer at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany.
