Cradle of Filth released ”You Will Know The Lion By His Claw ” new lyric video!

British metal legends  Cradle of Filth released ”You Will Know The Lion By His Claw” from their upcoming album ”Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay”, which will be out in September 22th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Statment of the Vocalist singer Dani Filth about the song:

“This track is one of my favourite songs from the new ‘Cryptoriana’ album -aside from ‘Achingly Beautiful’, ‘Death And The Maiden’ and the title track- due to its very unique flavour and its vehement brutality. The culminative strike is especially very ‘Dusk… and Her Embrace’ era Black Metal…

Inspired by the works of H. Rider Haggard, a Victorian author who schooled in my home town of Ipswich, this song uses the railroad annexation of the Transvaal in Africa during the 19th century to paint a vision of the greedy machinations of man coming up against a furious, displaced natural foe, thus posing an allegory for the downtrodden, revolting.

I also have the latin of this expression tattooed on my arm (due to being the usual supercilious Leo!).
The quote was made famous having been said in 1697 by Johann Bernoulli about Isaac Newton’s anonymously submitted solution to Bernoulli’s challenge regarding the Brachistochrone curve. So… Enjoy. Indulge. Desire. Darken.”

Here is the statment of  vocalist Dani Filth about the new song and music video :

“Working with such an artistic director as Arturs Berzins was indeed an honour.

“The video shoot was very extensively planned, involving myriad of extras and crew, make-up girls and set builders, a crow, some well-behaved snakes and a considerable amount of snow, candles, water, trees, naked bodies, lamentable mourners, as well as all being submerged in suitably gothic landscapes and vistas, and the fact that we travelled to Riga in Latvia to film it was also very unique and interesting.

”The video itself is fantastic, drawing from the darkly erotic imagery of the album artwork and bringing it to richly technicoloured classical life. We had such a blast shooting it, as the accompanying photos attest to.”

Cradle Of Filth revealed the details about the new upcoming album ”Cryptoriana-The Seductiveness Of Decay”, and the dates for the ”Cryptoriana World Tour”!

British metal gods Cradle Of Filth announced the release of  their 12th studio album, which will be entitled ”Cryptoriana The Seductiveness Of Decay.

Frontman Dani Filth stated this about the new upcoming album :

”The album is deeply infused with Victorian gothic horror and thus the title is a reflection of that.

“Cryptoriana’ implies the Victorian’s infatuation with the supernatural, the grave and the ghoulish. And the subtitle ‘The Seductiveness Of Decay’ further cements this attraction to death and the glittering lengthy process of self-annihilation.

In addition, Cradle Of Filth have announced a UK and Ireland tour which will get under way at Belfast’s Limelight on October 30 and wrap up with a set at Bristol’s Bierkeller on November 11.

“The dates will be the first in a long line of shows that will extend throughout the rest of the world throughout 2018.

“We aim to be very prolific on the live front, delivering a show worthy of our fan’s exalted expectations and more.”

About Dawn of Ashes:

That which gives light must endure burning. — Viktor Frankl

DAWN OF ASHES: The very name calls to mind the legend of the Phoenix, a god-being born anew from the ashes of its own destruction. It unites the Alpha and Omega, signifying that every end is a beginning and vice versa, that life and death are one. So goes the destiny of this musical form: to die unto its first self, passing through the agonizing fire of purification, only to rise again to a new dawn, with renewed purpose.

The fans who stood by DAWN OF ASHES from their earliest incarnation in 2001 know exactly what founder-frontman Kristof Bathory brings to the equation: music of violent power, unrelenting destruction, and cinematic sweep — a ruthless horror show for the ears, eyes and mind. Hard-edged and terrifying soundscapes driven by pummeling beats propelled savage lyrics across multiple albums; the introduction of crushing metal riffs and epic production elevated the music’s scope to its ultimate realization with the acclaimed 2013 album Anathema. It was at this stage of the band’s career that new opportunities loomed… or so it seemed at first.

With the prospect of a new label and a potentially higher global profile on the horizon, new business alliances were made that resulted in the formation of URILIA, an extreme metal unit which incorporated many sonic and thematic themes already familiar to DAWN OF ASHES fans, as well as new and diverse musical elements, united under a new philosophy and a heightened awareness of the Left Hand Path.

In late 2015, URILIA was laid to rest after its brief but memorable time on Earth… and from that ending, DAWN OF ASHES rose once again in 2016 with the release of Theophany, the band’s first album with Metropolis Records and first collaboration with Mick Kenney of ANAAL NATHRAKH.
