NE OBLIVISCARIS band by Xenoyr

Ne Obliviscaris ‘ third album, ”Urn” is bound to be a career-defining moment. The Australian extreme prog shooting stars have honed and re-balanced the key elements of their unique sound to a razor-sharp musical edge. The dynamic entwining of fierce growls and emotive clean vocals, the contrast between devastating et intricate guitar riffs and thundering drums against an unleashed violin and gorgeous string parts as well as the perfect blending of epic progressive and intense extreme metal forms of expression are all marking a new peak in the steep rise of the band.

Founded in the beautiful Australian coastal city of Melbourne, Victoria in the year 2003, Ne Obliviscaris ook the inspiration for their name from the proud motto of Clan Campbell based in Argyll, Scotland, which means “forget not”. From the start, this collective of exceptional musicians made it clear that they did not intend to follow any trends or walk on well-trodden paths. Their first demo, ‘The Aurora Veil’ (2007) had a massive impact in the metal underground far beyond the fifth continent and already their debut full-length ‘Portal of I’ (2012) reached mainstream music press, which praised a unique array of influences and the characteristic virtuoso violin.

Ne Obliviscaris immediately climbed remarkably higher on the ladder with sophomore opus ”Citadel” (2014) by adding avant-garde approaches including jazz, flamenco, progressive rock, and many other wide-ranged influences to their solid metal base.

Parallel to their success on a critical level and with an ever-growing host of die-hard fans, the Australians increased their reputation as an excellent live act with extensive touring literally around the globe. The financial base for this was laid by Ne Obliviscaris ‘ ground-breaking use of modern-day crowd-funding campaigns. This includes an ongoing Patreon membership scheme under the moniker The Ne Obluminati, which is revolutionizing the relationship between band and fans by using the ancient concept of patronage in today’s democratic setting.

”Urn” will lift Ne Obliviscaris to the next level. Outstanding musicianship meets excellent songwriting and a firework of brilliant ideas. Evening out the scales between extreme and progressive metal, the Aussies carve their own path. Spin ‘Urn’ on heavy rotation and  Ne Obliviscaris will take you to a whole new dimension of musical delights.

The band stated this:

“We’re very proud of our new album! Our dedication to song writing, recording and producing these 12 songs over the past 5 years has been a crazy musical journey and a huge learning experience that we will never forget. Our lyrical content and artwork is based on an original science-fiction concept story about a character who wakes up in a random field within an intricate crop circle with no memory of who he is or how he got there. The character is then thrown into a crazy adventure and eventually learns who he is and how to become immortal. There’s so much more to the story but we don’t want to give it all way just yet.”

Metal Twilight Zone in it’s full element!

Sunless Sky/Pokerface/Frantic Amber

Nis,Black Stage/Serbia

 22.04.2017

Sunless Sky, Pokerface and Frantic Amber held an a amazing concert at Black Stage Club, that will surely stay in the mind of the crowd, that was on this concert in a very positive way. I can say, that the bands rocked the stage, had fun, and they presented something that was, so amazing and great, that nobody in a crowd, didn’t stayed imune to it. Bands got on the stage in the time, and the madness began.

The first support act was American Power metal band Sunless Sky. This guys  are very energetic, loud, play some badass music, that the crowd on the concert, enjoyed fully in every possible way. They promoted thier new album ”Doppleganger”, that was released in April 7th, on the show, and they begin their show with a title track ”Starfall” from their new release. Their show was energetic, it was like full metal punch in your face, raw, kickass in metal style. The singer Juan Ricardo was all over the place, jumping, screaming, the guy was so furious and interesting, his performance made thier show better.

With a combination of thrash and power vocals and progressive sections, this band is unigue and special. They showed with this musical style at thier show, that they are amazing band, and that are having fun playing music, it can be seen on thier faces, that they enjoyed it, very much. For the end of the show, the band performed two old songs  ”Firebreather” and ”Death Machine”, and they got off the stage. After the show the band hung out with the fans, they were also in the crowd supporting the other two bands with the fans.

After the show the guitarist Kevin Czarnecki stated this about the show and the hole atmosphere:”We are on the tour  almost a month, we passed a lot of countries, but we were never greeted like this, like here! It was an honor and pleasure to play here, we had a blast. “. The show went on, and the madness can continue.

Next second band to perform was Russian Death/Trash metal band Pokerface. In their own style, Pokerface demonstrated the power of thier music, the sound on their show, was very strong, which made the expirience for the crowd on the concert better. The band got on the stage, and the first song that they played was ”Kingdom of Hate” from thier album Divide and Rule”. Vocalist Alexandra (Lady Owl), was full of energy, like on every show, she was jumping all over the place, she supported the crowd to go crazy, and they were crazy as hell, they really, have fun on their show.

Band also played the song ”Game On” from their latest album with the same title, they played also the songs ”Straight Flush”and”Play or Die”. Pokerface played two amazing covers ”You Will Know My Name” from Swedish Melodic death legends Arch Enemy, the cover was so good in their version, Alexandra brought something different to it, a new fierce energy, that in my opinion original needs to have, amazing crushing cover. The next one was the cover of ”Ace Of Spades” by mighty Motorhead, they play this song on every show, and they are better in playing it, I find interesting the Alexandra’s vocal for this song, female vocal for this song, is something fresh and new to this song, it gave’s it total new dimension to the song, her clean vocals are great, as her growls. Their new lead guitarist Xen, was amazing, she entertained the crowd, with her positive atitude, and she rocked the stage. The band left the stage in a fierce and powerful way, the crowd was screaming and very satisfied.

The time has come, for the headliners Internacional Melodic Death metal band Frantic Amber from Sweden, to play a show. Crowd was very exicited about the show. The first song that the band played was ”Burning Insight” from their latest release that has the same name as the song, from 2015. Before this song, the band began the show with a melodic intro, and than, the explosion happen, the crowd didn’t now what hit them. With melodic music and crushing riffs, band gave the crowd, a hellish ride, atmosphere on their show, was very positive and special.

Vocalist Elizabeth Andrews  demostrated that her vocals, are not from this world, she was so into her act on the stage, that she had a smile on the face all the time, also she fully entertained the crowd, with their new member and guitarist Milla Olsson, which joined the band, at the end of February.

The setlist contained all over the song from their latest release ”Burning Insight”. The last song, that band played was ”Wrath of Judgement” from their first EP called the same as the song. For the encore song the band played a cover from Death metal legends Cannibal Corpse for the  ”Hammer Smashed Face”, the vocalist Elizabeth performed this song in a awesome way. CorpseGrinder would be very proud of this cover, and female growls as well, she took the song to a next level.  The band left, the stage and they where hanging out with the crowd and fans after the show.

I can say about the hole show that is was something unique and special. The positive energy, freandly crowd, musicians supporting other bands on the stage, the connection with the fans, all of this was a amazing experience, and the crowd and fans would remember it for a log time. The hole atmosphere was just magical, everyone was like one big Metal family, everyone on the concert with the bands themself’s, have a great time, and enjoyed every minute of it. This was the night of pure metal destruction.

Enslaved entered the Studio To Record New Album!

Enlsaved is in the studieo and they are recording they new album. It has been , already over two years, since the release album “In Times“,  They are now recording their fourteenth, full-length release, yet-untitled. This album is going to be both wilder and progressive with melodic horizons, the band, which celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary last year, are always is in the mood  to surprise their fans. The recording is taking place at Duper & Solslottet Studios in Bergen at April, and it will be mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The album  is promesing, and it is going to be original and refreshing , containg some surprising new elements.

Ivar Bjørnson guitarist and mastermind stated this:

“It is absolutely fantastic to be in the studio with these new songs,”. “So many doors were opened with ‘In Times’ and the times that followed; for us as a band, for me as a composer and I guess for us all on a personal level. I have never worked this hard to put together music for an album before, and that intensity continues into the studio where everybody is giving their everything, every hour of every day. We are a tighter unit than ever before, which is obvious sonically. The concept conjured by myself and old war-brother Grutle is the strongest we have worked with. Finally, I am proud that we have taken more risks than ever before, and one in particular — and it is yielding awesome results. What does that mean? Stay tuned to find out!”

The cover and artwork is once again being  created by renowned designer and painter Truls Espedal.

TRILATERAL Guitarist Sheds Light On Third And Final Playthrough Video For New Song ”Cloud Forest”!

In this third, and final, playthrough, TRILATERAL guitarist, Graeme Kalb, gives us an insider’s view of the TRILATERAL experience as seen through the eyes, ears, and rig of a progressive metal virtuoso.

Statment of the band:

“We recorded this video on a cold day in my un-insulated garage. Luckily, ‘Cloud Forest’ is the hardest song on the album for me to play, so the frantic guitar playing kept my hands warm!

”We originally wrote ”Cloud Forest” in an earlier iteration of the band, when we had a second guitarist. Personally, I found it to be a song that contrasted heavily with what we had been writing at the time, but everyone liked it so much that it was a no-brainer to re-write it as a three-piece.”

The rig shown in the video is actually not what we used on the album. On stage I use a stereo modelling rig using two Line6 POD HDs to simulate having a second guitarist. Obviously this is still possible using tube amps, but the overall footprint of what gets packed in to the cars, to the pedals in front of me, is drastically reduced. In the studio, we used a tried-and-true staple of metal, a Peavey 6505+ into a Mesa Recto cab.”

Elliptic Orbits was released March 11th independently. Purchases can be made via the band’s bandcamp page.

TRILATERAL is a multidimensional progressive metal band with influences as diverse as their music.

A trinity of adept and nonconformist musicians, the band are not easily categorized into one simple genre, but that’s exactly what keeps hungry, forward-thinking metal fans interested in their unique sound. Although they integrate various fundamental elements of multiple genres and styles, TRILATERAL delivers their neural depth without mercy to shatter audiences’ expectations of what modern prog metal is truly capable of.

With their unique blend of brutality and jazz-fusion, the band manages to create a vast soundscape within every track that is not typically associated with metal.
